Higher Education Student Support
The Stern Center offers support services to higher education students. Stern Center instructors deliver research-based interventions for adult learners with unique profiles. Studies have shown that students significantly benefit when both content knowledge and targeted learning strategies are combined. Financial assistance for adult learners is available through the Stern Center.
Academic Coaching
The Academic Coaching program is a Stern Center program to help students learn to manage the demands of reading, writing, math, studying, and taking tests. Students who want to improve their academic skills meet one-to-one with instructors for customized instruction. Professional instructors teach, guide, and support individual students in the academic arena through research-based practices, and explicit instruction. Instructional sessions are available based on the needs of the individual. Students agree to complete pre and post surveys and consent to anonymous research.
