Scholarship and Financial Support

Through the generosity of individuals, corporations, and foundations, the Stern Center is able to offer limited scholarship support for our evaluation and  instruction services for both children and adults.   Scholarships are awarded based on financial need and the professional judgment of our staff that the services being requested are required and will provide lasting benefit.

Donations are designated for use either as scholarships in full, or they may be designated for our Smallwood Family Scholarship Endowment Fund, where they are invested to produce growth and earnings to be used as scholarships.  Our goal is to award up to 10% of the value of the above noted services as scholarships each year.  In our last fiscal year we achieved a level of 6.4%.

For more information see our Pathway to Scholarship publication.  To request a scholarship, please download, fill out and return our Scholarship Application.

In addition, funding from the Hoehl Family Foundation has created the Cynthia K. Hoehl Institute for Excellence at the Stern Center.  One of the goals of the Institute is to increase accessibility to our services by underwriting part of the costs of both Instruction and Professional Learning services.   For more information see Cynthia K. Hoehl Institute for Excellence.
