Services for Adult and College Level Learners

Our learning specialists work with college students and adult learners to help them reach their academic, social and professional goals with confidence. Our team will work with you one-on-one to determine your strengths and challenges and to teach you strategies to help you find success at work, school or in a social setting. Our students are diverse learners and include those with learning style differences, learning disabilities, autism, dyslexia, ADHD and speech/language concerns.

Our customized programs and services are designed to build confidence and give you the necessary skills for success. Financial aid and scholarships are available through the Stern Center Annual Scholarship Fund.

Stern Center Services

Learning Evaluations

Are you feeling overwhelmed in college or are you ready to take that next step in your career, but something is holding you back? A learning evaluation can help provide a full picture of how your brain works. Evaluations are essential in diagnosing differences in learning, planning an effective instructional program and monitoring progress.


Customized Instruction

We will work with you to create an individualized instruction plan to help you reach your full potential. Our programs are designed to help build confidence and provide you with the skills necessary for finding success. Our services provide academic coaching, study and organization skills (executive function), test taking skills, and writing for college and career.


Communication Services

We offer a wide range of services in social learning, including our Social Thinking® groups , and speech language therapy. Our social learning team of special educators, certified speech-language pathologists and psychologists provides individual and group coaching for students with social cognitive challenges, including autism, Asperger’s, nonverbal learning disability, ADD and mental health issues; cognition issues with attention, memory, executive functioning and visuospatial skills, and medical and behavioral diagnoses, including social-emotional disturbances, ADHD, dyslexia, stroke, traumatic brain injury and cerebral palsy.


Getting Financial Aid

Financial aid and scholarships are available to eligible students through the Stern Center and the Cynthia K. Hoehl Institute for Excellence within the Stern Center.
