Held at the end of every school year, the Stern Center staff organizes multiple mini-events throughout one week to show appreciation to all of the hardworking and dedicated students that attend the Stern Center. In past year, the members of our instruction and social communication staff have treated their students to an ice cream social so students could mingle and indulge in an ice cream sundae bar.
This year, we will not only be treating our students, but parents too! For the entire week of May 15- May 19, students will be given an assortment of snacks during their instruction session, including crackers, cookies, cupcakes, pizza, and more! In addition, each student will receive a goody bag to bring home. For parents, they will be able to enjoy coffee, water, and baked goods in the waiting room.
Our staff thoroughly enjoys rewarding Stern Center students and parents for all the hard work and dedication they put in to ensuring academic and social success be achieved. We use this events as a way to strengthen the community we have built at the Stern Center and as a way to say thank you to individuals for entrusting us with their brilliant brains. Happy Student Appreciation Week!

For the third year in a row, Steve Waltien, Ben Rameaka, Andrew Knox, and Kate James return to the Queen City to entertain with totally off-the-cuff comedy inspired by audience suggestions to support the Stern Center for Language and Learning. Once again, the Vermont Comedy Club is graciously hosting our “Laughter for Learning” fundraising event and shows will be at 7:00 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. both Wednesday and Thursday night.
For those of you who attended last year’s event, we hope you’ll join us once again and bring some extra friends to laugh with you! We are hoping for a large crowd to show some love to these talented performers and, as always, to help support Stern Center instruction for students and best practices for teachers through the Cynthia K. Hoehl Institute for Excellence.
Tickets for the 7:00 p.m. shows are $25 and tickets for the 8:30 p.m. shows are $10. These tickets can be purchased at the Vermont Comedy Club box office or on their website.
